Our transformation is still underway, but we are nearing completion with each passing day! Since January 2007, we have expanded and redesigned our guestrooms, public spaces and meeting areas, added a new restaurant and revamped our front facade. Soon our pool area, new pavilion and other amenities will be ready for their unveiling.

By collaborating with Steinberg Architects, we re-imagined the entire property, allowing the Westin philosophy of renewal to guide us. We channeled our efforts into an organic theme, inspired by tree elements and decorative flowers indigenous to Texas. The embodiment of this theme is introduced the moment guests enter our lobby area, where an intricate three dimensional floral mural is located behind our welcome desk.

The mural features multiple silver bladderpods, a delicate wild flower chosen for its soft form and clear structure. The flower elements of the mural were individually cast in a resin and concrete mixture in Canada before being shipped to Dallas. The three dimensionality of the piece is an important aesthetic attribute because of its soft natural shades and the way the components play with the natural and artificial light that illuminates the lobby. Other three dimensional murals can be found throughout the hotel as well, including murals featuring eucalyptus trees. After they were installed, the wall was painted in a soft white giving the illusion of one monolithic element.
