hotel update
We recently welcomed the addition of our own full-service UPS Store. Our valued business travelers, guests and visitors now have access to retail shipping, a postal center and a business service center—all within the confines of our recently-transformed property. A UPS Store on-site is quite unique, in fact, we are the only hotel in Texas to feature such an amenity.

Occupying 450 square feet on the hotel's fourth floor, The UPS Store and business center will offer domestic and international shipping, will handle large freight and pallets as well as all packaging handling, storage and delivery for the hotel's meeting planners and hotel guests. Package delivery to guestrooms upon check-in and delivery to assigned meeting rooms is a signature service offered by the hotel's UPS Store. A full range of US Postal Services, including stamps and meter mail, which includes bulk mail service is also offered as well as extensive documents services with four types of binding. The on-site printing capabilities will be a valuable cost and time saver, allowing guests and conference planners to have their materials printed, bound and waiting upon check-in. Additionally, the store staff will pack and ship any meeting materials at the conclusion of an event, and a Notary Public will be on-hand for customer convenience.

The store's hours operating hours are Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Rental computer stations and facsimile and copy machines are available 24/7 with a guest room key.

dallas history
Football fanatics either love them or hate them, so how did "America's team" get their start? Well, like many of their seasons, the Cowboy's story started a bit "rocky. "

Future cowboy owners, Clint Murchison, Jr. and Bedford Wynne, faced strong opposition from Washington Redskins' owner, George Preston Marshall in starting a new Texas team. The Redskins were the only NFL team representing the southern states, and Marshall did not want anyone to threaten this position.

Needing leverage for the birth of their team, Murchison and Wynne came up with an ultimatum. The two men bought the rights to their opponents fight song "Hail to the Redskins" and told Marshall he could not use the song unless he agreed to allow a new team.

First called the Dallas Steers and then the Dallas Rangers, the team finally settled on "Cowboys" in time for their 1960 season debut.
